We love this product here on Pixel Family, it has really made a noticeable improvement to the look and feel of my skin. Vitamin C essence from Lumene will revive fatigued and dull-looking skin and increase skin hydration for a smoother, plumper complexion. It’s a clear fluid liquid and comes in a hygienic dropper dispenser, which I like, making it easy to use under a high broad spectrum SPF day cream, and a night treatment cream.
It contains texture enhancers, skin-replenishing glycerin, along with skin restoring sodium hyaluronate, adenosine, and free radical fighting antioxidant vitamin C.
An ingredient with proven skin restoring and brightening benefits for the skin. Much is made of the Arctic Cloudberry in the formula and while this has potential benefits as a skin care ingredient because it’s rich in vitamins, phenols, and antioxidants, more peer-reviewed research is needed to back up the claims and its value for the skin.
I can only describe this as a super-moisturiser. Having used so many moisturising-type products over the years I sometimes struggle for superlatives, but, honestly, the effect of this was beyond expectations. As a product, to me, Lumene make me think of Summer: there’s a sunshine feel to their range; one that’s reflected in both the colours and scents, but most of all their decision to go for a gel rather than cream.
In doing so, the products feel alive and fresh; younger somehow, perhaps because they’re hardly traditional. In the container, the gel is layered in multi-colours: which makes it look like a sea-breeze cocktail. But upon application, the gel is cooling. Again, the feeling is of being on a sunshine island, in the shade, applying a pleasantly cooling fluid to your warm skin. You won’t need much, and soon the effects are seriously (and I mean, seriously) soft skin. The first time we tried we were all taken aback by how soft our skin became.
I don’t think I can compare Lumene Valo Vitamin C Glow Boost Essence to anything else I’ve ever used – and for that, I’m a fan. Lumene really are worth checking out. The texture is light, yet it seems to absorb very quickly. And leaves a dewy look to the skin without leaving it feeling oily.
The scent is nice, it says berry extract on the ingredients but I felt it had a more fresh sort of scent reminiscent of creams with primrose and a tiny hint of citrus. Quite hard to describe, it’s many things but not fruity to me. The smell is very almost non existent. You really have to breathe in hard to pick it up.
I like the design of the Lumene Valo Vitamin C Glow Boost Essence, it has a dropper type applicator so which is great for deciding how much you need to use. I do hate serums and creams supplied in bottles with pumps. They tend to distribute far too much leaving you with waste or ending up with you going through a six month bottle in two months. This bottle could easily last six months, even with daily use. I know the bottle doesn’t really matter, it’s the contents that count, but this is a really nice bottle. A lovely translucent orange with a silver and white dropper top. It would look lovely on any dressing table!
It’s a good idea to use Lumene Valo Vitamin C Glow Boost Essence in the morning. Before your regular moisturiser and make up – and sometimes on its own without makeup. I have noticed a significant difference in the appearance of my skin. Redness is definitely minimised and many people have commented on how well I look.
