If you’re reading this you’re probably curious about using a Neverfull as a changing bag. If you don’t already have one, you may be questioning whether the MM or GM would be the better choice for such a purpose. Personally, I think the GM is the most practical option. It’s a big, classy, multifunctional bag that you can use for all sorts of things now, once baby arrives, and for years to come! I love my GM and with the sides cinched it doesn’t feel huge or overwhelming at all. With the sides open, it makes a fabulous carry-on and travel bag.
Seems crazy, right? You spend all that money on a beautiful bag and now I’m going to share with you cheap tips on how to use it as a changing bag. Remember, these tips work for all totes, not just neverfulls. So, if you’re in the market to turn your Neverfull into a changing bag, you need to read this. I remember when I was first pregnant and shopping around for a stylish changing bag. I felt disappointed with the lack of fashionable options.
Then and there I decided I didn’t want to buy a changing bag that I didn’t love. Why spend so much money on something I didn’t like carrying around?
If you’re like me, the thought of carrying around a baby change bag will make you cringe. Yes, there are some styles that are attractive but it’s still a changing bag. Plus, this was well over 10 years ago, and even then maternity ranges left a lot to be desired. I wanted to carry a tote I loved and to then make it work for my baby essentials. That’s exactly what this hack did for me. It neatly contained the baby necessities so that I could easily carry my Neverfull as my baby bag.
If you own a Neverfull you already know just how great the tote is, but also how much of a cavern it can be, especially when you become a Mother and therefore automatic keeper of everyone’s stuff. So, I’ve done all of the hard work for you, this is by far the cheapest and easiest way to organize the open space inside your tote and make it compatible as a changing bag. If you don’t own a Neverfull, any large tote will work similarly.
The Neverfull GM is a great choice if you’re looking for an oversized tote that holds everything. The GM is my favorite of the Neverfulls.
I like that I can fold the sides in if I want the tote to be a little smaller. The extra room when packing for a flight or long day out is so useful. I recommend purchasing the GM size Neverfull if you don’t want to be limited by the number of necessities you can carry with you. You have plenty of room for baby goods and extra space for yourself!
To start with you’ll need one of these in size XL for the GM and size L if you own the MM. The felt is of a good quality with plenty of storage pockets and a small zipped compartment which is great for a key or credit card. The middle sections are also removable, but are perfect for bottles, sippy cups, baby wipes and pacifiers.
Secondly, you need to add one of these. Trust me, this product is so useful. The cushioned pillow is perfect and the material used is so soft and comfortable. Lastly the two side pockets are super helpful for putting extra nappies and wet wipes. Overall, adding this to your tote will make nappy changing time easier because in one pack you have your wipes, nappies and baby changing pad altogether.
There are obviously more expensive diaper bag converters out there. We saw plenty for upwards of £75. But if you’ve already spent quite a bit on a bag, the last thing you’re going to want to do is spend a lot of money converting it into a baby change bag. We feel like these options are a great compromise. Fantastic functionality for very little money.
Louis Vuitton GM dimensions: 15.7″ L x 13″ H x 7.9″ D
The measurements of the GM size are absolutely large enough to fit the bag organizer and even large enough to give yourself a little room around it for extras like a jacket or a blanket. Because this organizer is made of felt, it acts as a fantastic bag shaper too. It is also squishy enough that it still fits nicely even with the sides folded in.
